Restaurants

For those who know the area around the hotel, what sorts of places are around for food/social dinners?

Go to a Huey's.  Whenever I

Go to a Huey's.  Whenever I have friends come into Memphis for the first time, I always make sure they try Huey's at least once.  Very reasonably priced.  A little far, but I'll be commuting to my dorm if anyone would like to try it.  I can take 4 furs.

If you preregistered, you

If you preregistered, you will recieve a conbook. The conbook does contain a map of the surrounding area and a list of nearby resturants marked with corresponding letters on the map. I know theres a Subway on Democrat before the overpass. The airport lobby has a Backyard Burgers and an Arby's. There is an Overstuffed Deli on Airways, within walking distance of the hotel, & if I rememeber correctly, there is a Taco Bell close to the corner of Airways and Lamar. Don't forget the Memphis Belle inside the hotel; very good food but its a $12 buffet. & theres a Pizza Hut on Lamar and a Domino's on Airways, so you can always order pizza if you're not traveling with a car. I live in Memphis :)

Movies

Does the conbook contain any information on local movie theaters? :)  I can google a few theaters, but I think some of them are live theaters masquerading as movie theaters. :D

Movie places

Malco Paradiso is a nice place, about 8.50 a person though.

*Find* a way to get to

*Find* a way to get to Corky's. Best BBQ anywhere, and this is coming from a Texan.

Think.

I kinda like the "Kettle".

I kinda like the "Kettle".  It's a run down, dumpy looking place, but the food is very decent, and the staff are friendly.  Good value for your money there as well.
