While spending time with friends and just hanging out is fun, you might want to do some other things while you are at the convention. Never fear, because Mephit has a weekend full of fun and activities so you will never be bored.
Organizer: Wolfpaws
Remember!
If you bring a magnet for the Critter Con Suite fridge, you will get one in return:
The schedule for this year's MFM is now posted. You may view the scheudle by clicking here.

It's that time once again! Time to get out your fursuit and get your game on! We have fun stuff planned for this, my fourth year of hosting the games, and I plan to make sure that suiter and spectator alike are NOT disappointed! And yes, the evening will be capped by Gilmore's "EXTREME Musical Chairs"!!!! Be there!
Pshaw and I are pleased to announce that we will be offering two new panels:
Welcome to the Ark!
Find out about lions, lambs, doves and a host of other critters from the Bible, and some of the hidden meanings given to them. What great empire was represented by the winged leopard, and why was it chosen? What are the only two animals in the Bible who talked? How many of each kind of animal entered the ark? (Hint- it wasn't just two of each!)
Once Upon a Furry Time
Go into the woods and discover more than just the big bad wolf, three little pigs or a well dressed cat. This is a panel about the many animals and animal guides found in both fairy and folk tales, the symbolism behind them, including the political, psychological and spiritual reasons for including them in stories and why they have lasted so long. Stories from around the globe and thier animals will be compared.
Both will be offered by JoAnn "Calliope" Abbott We're so thrilled that she has stepped forward to offer these expansions to our spirituality track. Thanks a bunch!

Oh, and remember: next Friday... is Hawaiian shirt day. So, you know, if you want to, go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans.
---
Well, maybe not NEXT Friday, but Friday, Aug 29, is also the day to sign up for the Masquerade. I will be out in the Garden Court (hopefully with cookies) for those signing up. Right now would be a good time to work on your skits as well. The more prepared you are when you get there, the quicker the rehearsal will go, the more on time we become. There is also a list for those that want to sign up so you can kick ideas around. I would also like to know some ideas if you already have them. I still might have a script or two for those that don't have anything already, but we shouldn't rely just on those. Don't forget, the skits can be about anything, but there is a "Theme Award," and incase you haven't heard (living under a rock or something), the theme is Office Space. This is always well attended, and well received.
Howdy folks
Yes I know its alittle late in the game for a post requesting the artistic talents of "y'all" (and thats my fault for letting school get in the way;))
But I want to try something diffrent: I want to see some fresh faces for the art track this year, i.e. the unknown, underappreciated furry artist in the fandom. If your name is abuzz amongst your friends in the fandom then I want you-this is your time to shine. This is your chance to show off your talents ....and possiably get you a few more commissions;)
What kind of panel would you like to do is entirely at your discression. We can do adult panels (provided the panel is cleared but the higher ups)
Let me know of your ideas, but be hasty........time draws near
Yup, it's that time again. Pshaw and I are already busy plotting and planning this year's panels.
We can't do this all alone, however, so we'd like to ask your help. If you have a background in any of the following, please contact us and we'll talk to you about lending your expertise to our panels.
Here's this year's panels:
Anthropomorphics Through the Ages: Pan-Asian Cultures (please note, we're leaving the tenuki and kitsune out of this, as their mythology has been extensively covered elsewhere, and focusing on lesser known beings and animals)
Mythological Species - Dragon
Life of the Horse (this is our non-mythological totem offering)
Shapeshifting from the Shamanic Perspective
We're looking for folks who back their beliefs with solid research in anthropology, archeology, and mythology so that we can put everything in a useful context for as much of the audience as possible. If you like doing research and want to share your resources, we can really use the help (please don't ask about my book budget, you really don't want to know :D)
The Christian furries have asked for a Christian Furry round table discussion and for a panel on the symbology of animals in the Bible. Neither Pshaw nor I feel qualified to lead or research these panels as we're not Christian. If you know someone who would be willing to help out, contact us.
Thanks for listening!
We have this perfectly boring little refrigerator in the con suite. We would like to make it less so and ask that people bring a magnet from their home state/city/college...whatever you think might be fun to have on the fridge. So, start keeping an eye out. We look forward to seeing y'all again in just a little over 11 months!
